‘Tenki’ Exhibition by Mita Shiniti at Gallery Speak For in Tokyo

While the ‘Tenki’ exhibition at GALLERY SPEAK FOR in Tokyo just wrapped up, Japanese stylist Mita Shiniti definitely made his mark with his intricate white deconstructed Nike Dunks sculptures and collection of photographs. I’m loving the chair with the laces used in the back!

Maison Martin Margiela : ‘20′ The Exhibition

A Blog Curated By brings us stunning images from ‘20′ The Exhibition, a celebration of the past two decades of Maison Martin Margiela, which opens next at the Somerset House in London on June 3, 2010. Curated by the Momu fashion museum in Antwerp, the exhibit captures the creativity and spirit of the house of Margiela. With installations, photography, video, films, and of course garments by one of fashions most innovative visionaries, the exhibit runs through September 5th and is definitely not one to be missed.

BOOOOOOOM!’s “Small Victories”

One of my favorite inspriational blogs, BOOOOOOOM!, just announced their 10th project, Small Victories.

Small Victories is a photographic celebration of the everyday! A collection of 4×6 prints of the quietly beautiful, unintentionally funny, people and things all around us. I believe it is these little moments that make life worth living.

In May, a photo show of the compiled chosen images will be held at Above Second gallery in Hong Kong.

So many times we overlook little things (or “small victories”, I should say) that incessantly happen all around us because we are too caught up with our fast-paced lives. I challenge you to stop running around like a headless chicken and/or to get off your chair, away from your computer and do the following to enter BOOOOOOOM!’s project:

1. Take a million photos.

2. Select your best work (3 photos max, only one will be shown).

3. Get 4″ x 6″ prints made (full bleed, no borders).

4. Clearly write your name and email on the back of each photo.

5. Put the photo(s) in an envelope and mail to:

*They’re not accepting photos submitted via email*

Deadline for submissions is April 30th 2010.

Here’s an example a “small victory” to get your creative eyes rollin’:

I found these incredibly eerie, bewitching shorts on Trendland with little (okay, basically zero) information on the background of these works. Watch these enthralling, mysterious series of viral videos by iamamiwhoami here. Make sure your volume is on max to get the full experience of these flicks.

Kanye West Blogs It Up To a New Level

Kanye West recently gamed up with a new image heavy blog …a white canvas full of visual inspiration. Filled with fashion, art, music, and beautiful naked women, the blog is an art itself. West claims that every post, every picture, every image is never finished, as it’s tweaked and refined to perfection.
